Contact local churches and faith organizations
Many churches run emergency housing programs, have connections, or can provide a night or more of shelter.
Apply for transitional housing programs
Transitional housing provides stability for weeks or months while you rebuild. Apply to multiple programs at once.
Apply for emergency rental assistance
Many counties have emergency rental assistance funds. Call 211 or check your county's social services website.
Apply for SNAP and cash assistance immediately
While in temporary housing, apply for food stamps (SNAP) and cash assistance to help meet basic needs.
